Random Bits #5: The End of Utaraji, Doujin Work, and I Want to be Nagi’s Pet.

The End of Utawarerumono Radio

In an episode filled with Yuzu-nee’s “Yuzu-chan and Riki-chan are going to get mar…,” Yuzu-nee announces that the program is coming to an end for good by the end of June after running for about a year. (About two-three times as long as typical radio shows.) Aww… They run out of sponsors, perhaps? I mean, why else they would endorse Makabinbin (an energy drink for men… you know what I mean) in the program anyway? This mean we have about 3-4 more episodes to enjoy. Hope something exciting gonna happen in the last episode! Read the rest of this entry »

Anime Internet Radio

29 04 2007

I have been listening to internet radio shows of anime programs for quite some time, especially in the last two weeks. These shows are a great way to entertain yourself while you’re coding or working in front of a computer. The following are some that caught my attention lately: Read the rest of this entry »

Random Bits #4: Doujin Work Anime, Nanoha Car, & Hayate no Gotoku! Book 10

12 03 2007

Doujin Work anime: This is probably old news to almost everyone, but I was just informed yesterday by the cover of April’s Manga Time Kirara that Doujin Work is getting an anime adaptation. (You can read more about the manga in my earlier post.) The “I’m gonna try hard until it gets an anime adaption” prophecy Hiroyuki-sensei made in Volume 1 of the manga has come true, and I’m quite excited about it! Read the rest of this entry »

I attended the 28th Wonder Festival today. Although I’m no figure collector, I do enjoy going there just to take photos. (I think I might have become a camera freak lately…) Here are some figures I thought were seriouly cool:

A Thought on Dakimakura Covers

4 01 2007

The most valued treasures in my otaku collection are Nanoha and Fate dakimakura covers on sale in Comiket 70. Recently, I impulse bought a dakimakura cover featuring Primula that comes with Dengeki Hime Navel Special (NSFW), and it was delivered to me yesterday via DHL. So, I swapped Fate-chan out of my body pillow to try hugging Rim-chan to sleep last night. It turns out that the Nanoha cover is my favourite after all eventhough the one with Rim-chan is so much more faptastic. (NSFW) Read the rest of this entry »

Moe in the 90’s: PASSION, FRIENDSHIP, LOVE, and GIANT ROBOTS!

3 01 2007

Watching Martian Successor Nadesico, I made a striking discovery. The first users of the word “moe” must be Super Robot otaku!

Here are some evidences. In Episode 2 of Nadesico, Daigouji Gai, one of the prominent animated otaku, describe a certain anime show as:

「全39はモエモエっす!」
All 39 episodes are so moemoe!” Read the rest of this entry »
